Attorney Michael Mee – Founder, Liberators Criminal Defense
Attorney Michael Mee was raised in a small town in upstate New York before moving to New York City, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science. It was there, while immersed in constitutional theory and criminal jurisprudence, that he discovered a natural aptitude for legal reasoning. Seeking a more principled frontier of practice, he relocated to Las Vegas and earned his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV—consistently ranked among the top public law schools in the country.
Michael has spent over a decade in the legal trenches of Nevada. Early in his career, he served as a Law Clerk on some of the most high-profile cases in the state, including the landmark Bundy Ranch “standoff” trial, which ended in a full dismissal after a hard-fought defense against federal overreach. He also contributed to multiple successful criminal appeals, including reversals of serious felony convictions such as Murder.
After becoming a licensed attorney, Michael founded Liberators Criminal Defense in 2021 with a mission: to provide elite-level criminal representation to the accused—regardless of their income or social standing. Since then, he has handled hundreds of criminal cases across every level of Nevada's legal system, including Justice Courts, District Courts, Federal District Court, the Supreme Court of Nevada, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Under his leadership, Liberators Criminal Defense has established a remarkable record: out of the firm's entire caseload, only two clients have ever served time in custody. The rest have seen their charges dismissed, reduced, or resolved through non-custodial outcomes such as probation or fines. From capital cases involving allegations of Murder and Category A sexual assault, to delicate CDL traffic matters where even a minor conviction can threaten a career, Michael brings the same tenacity and precision to every defense. He does not take cases to "work out a deal." He takes them to win—and when he cannot win outright, he fights for the most favorable resolution possible. Every client gets his full attention. Every courtroom appearance is deliberate. And every case is treated as if it were his own name on the docket.
